Any claim is subject to the deduction of any applicable excess or deductible.
Coverage becomes effective only upon successful registration of the equipment. Claims submitted prior to the registration or relating to pre-existing conditions will not be accepted.
Coverage Timeline
- *5-Year Complimentary Warranty: Commences on the delivery date of the eligible new Caterpillar standby generator.
- ^Additional 5-Year ESC Extension: Available for purchase to continue coverage beyond the initial warranty period.
Coverage upgrades or continuations begin on the date of registration. Claims made before that date will not be covered. If a claim is mistakenly paid before registration, Caterpillar may recover the full amount and apply a 10% administrative fee.
Registering Your Equipment – EDSR Process
To activate your coverage and unlock full support, your equipment must be registered through the Engine Delivery Service Record (EDSR) process. This links your details to your engine’s unique Caterpillar serial number and connects you to your local support network.
If registration isn’t completed within three months of purchase, the buyer will be recorded as the end user by default.
Rental Reimbursement
If your generator is out of action for more than 96 hours (Platinum coverage), we’ll help cover rental costs:
| Engine Size (L) | Travel/Mileage Limit | Rental Reimbursement (USD) |
| Up to 4 L | 2 hrs / 160 km | $2,500 |
| Over 4 L to 7.5 L | 4 hrs / 320 km | $5,000 |
| Over 7.5 L to 18 L** | 8 hrs / 515 km | $10,000 |
Note: Rental support applies only if repairs can’t be completed within 96 hours of the dealer technician’s first visit.
What Caterpillar Will Do
If a covered component fails, Caterpillar will:

- Cover the labor required to complete the repair,

All work is performed during normal business hours at an authorized Caterpillar dealer or on-site, depending on the situation.
Coverage includes all factory-shipped components with Caterpillar part numbers, but excludes consumables like filters, fluids, vee belts, hoses, paint, batteries, and after-treatment systems.
Dealer Support & Aftermarket Components
The Caterpillar dealer network offers tailored solutions that may include aftermarket components. These components are not automatically covered under the ESC policy.

EPSA’s standard warranty for aftermarket-fitted components is 12 months (parts replacement only).

ESC does not cover:
- Claims made before registration,
- Failures caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or poor maintenance,
- Non-Caterpillar aftermarket components (unless explicitly included),
