The Opportunity
EPSA has a large and growing Rental Solutions business unit which is a major provider of Power Generation, Air Compression and Temperature Control rental systems. The business unit as a fleet of over 1800 units, with a total replacement value of over $180M – and this fleet is deployed from 11 Branches across Australia. The 2029 Strategy involves significant further growth for this business unit, which is being restructured to best position for that growth.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rental Product Support Specialist – Electrical to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Centralized Data Control (CDC) systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and familiarity with CANbus or Ethernet networks. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and technical support of our rental equipment, delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Advisory: Serve as a subject matter expert, advising project managers and engineers on the integration and installation or refurbishment of battery energy storage systems, generators, chillers, and HVAC units. This role will also involve close technical relationships with Caterpillar and its dealers (and other equipment suppliers).
CDC Systems: Manage and support Centralised Data Control (CDC) systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and data accuracy.
PLC/SCADA Systems: Utilise your knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems to monitor, control, and automate equipment processes.
CANbus or Ethernet: Maintain and troubleshoot CANbus and Ethernet networks to ensure reliable communication between components and systems.
Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their technical needs, provide guidance, and ensure their satisfaction with our services.
Systems Administration: Oversee and maintain multiple platforms, ensuring seamless integration and operation across all systems.
Field Support: Provide technical support to field technicians during breakdowns and other service activities, offering expert guidance to resolve issues promptly.
Remote Telemetry: Oversee the migration and integration of fleet assets for remote telemetry, ensuring reliable and consistent data transmission.
Training: Be able to provide remote and person to person training to ensure upskilling within sales representatives and technicians.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar role within the power generation or industrial equipment sector.
Strong knowledge of Centralized Data Control (CDC) systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming and SCADA systems.
Experience with CANbus and Ethernet networks.
Electrical trade qualification or relevant technical certification.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
Willingness to travel and provide on-site support as needed.
